Thank you for choosing Alesta. This Privacy Policy has been prepared by Tuğrul İspir & Bilge (Data Controllers) to inform you about the personal data processed through the Alesta mobile application and associated services, the purposes of data processing, and your rights.
1. Data Collected and Methods of Collection In order to create user accounts and provide advanced travel planning features, the following data is processed within our application:
Account and Profile Information: Name, surname, age, gender, city, occupation, email address, and password information entered manually during the registration and membership phase.
Travel and Route Preferences: Travel dates, budget segment, traveler profile, travel intensity, interests, mode of transportation (walking or driving), and accommodation/hotel location.
Location Data: Subject to your explicit consent, your device's real-time location data is accessed (via the expo-location library) to determine the route starting point. If permission is denied, starting points can be selected manually on the map.
Usage and Interaction Data: In-app button interactions, page view durations, and navigation movements are collected via the PostHog infrastructure, associated with your unique User ID.
2. Purposes of Data Processing The collected personal and anonymous data are processed for the following purposes:
To create, verify, and ensure secure login for user accounts.
To generate customized, optimized, and personalized travel itineraries for the user.
To analyze the in-app user experience, detect popular features, and improve Alesta (PostHog).
To detect technical crashes and errors occurring in the application and to improve system performance (Sentry).
3. Data Storage and Sharing with Third Parties Your user profile data and account information are stored encrypted on our secure cloud servers (Supabase). To ensure functionality and analytics, your data is shared anonymously or on a limited basis with the following third-party services:
Supabase: For user authentication, account management, and database infrastructure.
PostHog: For in-app user behavior and interaction analysis.
Sentry: For technical crashes, error logs, and performance tracking.
Google Maps SDK & OpenWeatherMap API: For map rendering, distance calculations, and fetching real-time weather data.
4. Data Retention and Right to Account Deletion (Data Destruction) User data is stored in the Supabase database as long as your account remains active.
Users have the right to delete their accounts and all associated personal data permanently at any time. To completely delete your account and all registered data on Alesta, you can fill out the form at https://appalesta.github.io/account-deletion or directly send your request to alestahq@gmail.com. Upon request, your data will be irreversibly deleted from our systems.
